Young People
The Sunday School meets every Sunday morning apart from the third Sunday in the month when we have an All Age Service.
We also offer a crèche facility for the duration of every service except the All Age Service.
Stones have a strong music tradition and our young people are encouraged to play an instrument they are learning, choose a percussion instrument from the many we have or sing in the music group at our All Age services.
We also offer opportunities to get involved in sketches and singing when we perform our presentations for special services eg. Mothering Sunday, Easter, The Sunday School Anniversary, Harvest and Christmas. We encourage all children to take part and enjoy the experience. Other opportunities involve contributing to the monthly All Age services with readings and prayers.
We also go on trips eg. Ten Pin Bowling, Theatre, Pizza Party. This allows the children to have an enjoyable time with all of their other friends from the church. We have a traditional Christmas party for the young children and the young people go out for a meal.
We encourage the children to get involved in church activities and give them the opportunity to help run stalls at the Spring and Autumn Fayres. We also raise money for Christian Aid and make up a shoebox for our shoebox appeal which provides Christmas gifts for young people who would otherwise not receive a present at Christmas.
Over the years we have made Scarecrows for the Norland Scarecrow festival. Scarecrows we have made include: Joseph and his Brothers, Maria and the Nuns from the Sound of Music and Characters from the Wizard of Oz!
